Pantha du Prince: Conference Of Trees - Volksbühne - Concert stream Nov. 17. 8p.m. CET !!!
Dear Friends,we are overwhelmed about the feedback of our streaming event at Volksbühne/Berlin yesterday, so we thought to give you more time and space for enjoying the full show and maybe inviting friends. Spread the word. The show will be now online till November, 17th 20.00 CET. Link to the tickets and full streaming event!
According to current Corona resolutions in Germany, the theaters, and thus also the Volksbühne Berlin, must close till November 30. Unfortunately, this also means that we had to cancel our six concerts in November, too. Since it was not an option for us and Volksbühne to postpone the already postponed concerts once again, we will taking the show online to share some musical joy during these trying times. The concert was elaborately shot on the main stage of the Volksbühne, with a large stage setup and an atmospheric lighting – a celebration of music to stream from the comfort of your home. Check out the video teaser!
Berlin - Volksbühne "Conference of Trees" sreaming concert scheduled for November, 12th! Now on sale!
Dear friends,
The signs were perfect for the planned double concert evenings at the Volksbühne / Berlin. But after the theatres were closed, the auditorium is now inevitably empty and we cannot play for you as planned. After the first shock, we sat down with the people of Volksbühne and thought about what we can do now. Just cancel? Wait until next year? Or even longer? Postpone the concerts that have already been postponed? That wasn't a real option then for us. - So let's start recording right away; with stage, light and all the stuff that go with it. And even if a digital concert evening cannot replace the live experience, for us in the current situation it is an alternative that we are very happy to play the show for you. So we did that yesterday! On November 12th, at 8:00 pm we will stream “Conference of Trees” online. If you would like to redeem your tickets for this exclusive participation of this digital concert and support us, please let the staff of the Volksbühne know by November 7th by email or phone. For everyone else there is the possibility to purchase new tickets for the digital concert (now on sale!): >Ticket Link<I will sign the album posters as a thank you for all who hold their cards. Out now the new single: The Crown Territory- Roman Flügel Remix
https://PanthaDuPrince.lnk.to/TheCrownTerritoryRomanFluegelRMX
In his critical acclaimed musical experiment "Conference of Trees" Pantha Du Prince translates the communication of trees into an impressive sound journey. With his sense for harmonies he combines avant-garde-music with electronic club music sounds. With the help of Dj and producer Roman Flügel we hear the track in an absolutely new interpretation. Flügel produced an light, breezy dub-house track and with his senses for pop-melodies, he managed it to lighten up the crowns. A perfect symbiosis or is it photosynthesis?
Pius in Tacet - feat. Jungstötter
https://panthaduprince.lnk.to/PiusInTacetfeatJungstoetter
With this new interpretation of „Pius in Tacet“ the singer Jungstötter, a young talented musician from southern Germany, transformed the original soundscape into an emotional pop tune. Jungstötter, who stunned audiences last year with his debut album „Love is“ via PIAS, brings his soft and fragile voice, reminiscent of Nick Cave, Scott Walker and Bryan Ferry, to "Pius in Tacet" complementing Weber's original organic rhythms, melodies and percussions.

In his latest musical experiment "Conference of Trees" Hendrik Weber aka Pantha Du Prince translates the communication of trees into an impressive sound journey. What does it sound like when trees communicate? This is the question the German composer, electronic music producer and conceptual artist Pantha Du Prince attempts to answer in his latest album, “Conference of Trees”. The depths of his exploration into this mysterious language clearly visible by the various routes he takes into uncovering it; The instruments Pantha du Prince uses on “Conference of Trees” are the tools for his exploration; partly handmade by the artist himself, who wanted to explore the sound characteristics of different woods through intensive studies of the material. He is supported by a percussion ensemble consisting of Håkon Stene and Bendik Hovik Kjeldsberg, who already participated in his last ensemble project The Bell Laboratory, and Manuel Chittka, drummer of the German artist Jungstötter. Jazz musician Friedrich Paravicini, who has already worked with Lou Reed and Robert Wilson, also participated in the arrangements. For an artist who was mainly producing electronic music up to this point, working with wood instruments also meant a shift in day-to-day habits, “Spending so much time in front of the computer and working with electronic machines started feeling a bit bleak to me,” explains Pantha Du Prince, “I wanted to find a way to spend more time outdoors and to legitimize it with art.” Pantha du Prince’s experiment with “Conference of Trees” also carries in all its melodic tensions an important social critique. The implications of how we currently interact with nature, and our destructive relationship to our ecosystems are also addressed. He seems to be saying that tree mustn’t only be respected and protected, but it should also be appreciated.“Conference of Trees” is a profound probe into the lives of the beings that co-inhabit our planet for millennia, and without which our life depends. By taking us to the very core of that being, and by granting us their perspective, even if only momentarily, Pantha Du Prince hopes we can start to grasp the importance of our friendly neighbours, and start to heal our relationship to our ecosystem.

With the help of sound experiments, Pantha Du Prince explores the communication of trees and translates them into music. The instruments for this are partly handmade by the artist himself, who wanted to find out something about the sound characteristics of different woods through intensive studies of the material. He is supported by a percussion ensemble consisting of HÃ¥kon Stene and Bendik Hovik Kjeldsberg, who already participated in his last ensemble project The Bell Laboratory, and Manuel Chittka, drummer of the German band Messer. Jazz musician Friedrich Paravicini, who has already worked on Tocotronic's last No. 1 album, also participated in the arrangements. In collaboration with a light designer, a video artist and a costume designer, a spectacular stage setting is created, giving space to Weber's interdisciplinary approach. The project is being co-produced with the International Summer Festival at Kampnagel, the Barbican in London, the Kammerspiele in Munich and the Schauspielhaus Bochum.
